    MA Programs

    The School of Journalism and Communication offers five MA programs: Journalism, International Journalism and Communication, Radio & TV Broadcasting, Communication, and Media Economics. Each program takes two years to complete and consists of required courses, production courses and electives.

    MA in Journalism

    The MA in Journalism cultivates in students both theoretical reflection and professional skills. Students master the practical skills of news gathering, reporting, writing, and editing. They also hone their skills in research and teaching. Graduates will be well prepared to work in the media industry or as teachers and researchers at universities.

    Core courses: News Gathering; Reporting and Writing; Advanced News Editing; Advanced Commentary Writing; Visual Reporting.

    MA in International Journalism and Communication

    The MA in International Journalism and Communication educates students to become accomplished journalists. Completely taught in English, the program emphasizes foreign language skills. Students become familiar with politics, law and economics, digital media production and develop a global vision. Graduates will be eligible for jobs as journalists and editors in the media industry, corporations, governments, and international organizations. They will also be able to teach and do research at universities.

    Core courses: English News Writing; English Opinion Writing; English Feature Writing.

    MA in Broadcast Journalism

    The MA in Broadcast Journalism cultivates in students both theoretical and professional skills. Students master the practical skills of broadcast news gathering, reporting, writing, editing and producing. They also develop the ability to do research and teach. Graduates will be qualified to work in the media industry and as teachers and researchers at universities.

    Core courses: Radio & TV News Reporting Studies; Audio-visual Communication Theory Studies; Radio & TV Operational System and Mechanism.

    MA in Communication

    The MA in Communication educates students to master the theories and practical skills of advertising and public relations. Graduates will be equipped to teach and research advertising and public relations. They could also pursue careers in editing and designing magazines, newspapers, and digital media.

    Core courses: Theory and Practice of Public Relations; Theory and Practice of Advertising; Theory and Practice of Online Communication.

    MA in Media Economics

    The MA in Media Economics cultivates in students both theoretical and professional skills. Graduates will be familiar with media economics and management. They will have developed abilities in research and teaching. They could seek employment in the media industry or teach and do research at universities.

    Core courses: Media Economics Studies; Media Industry Development Studies; Theory and Practice of Publishing.
